Tagging

From zFairs Contest Management

There are 3 types of tags:

  • Project Tags- Tag a project. Best when used for t
  • Auto Tags

Auto Tags

Watch a short overview: Auto Tags video

Start by going to Staff → Tags.

To add a tag

  1. Click Add in the top right corner.
  2. Select which type of tag you want:
    • Project: Assigned to the project/entry. Helpful when filtering by entry (e.g. round setup) and can be identified during scoring.
    • Person: Assigned to any user. Useful for filtering judges in round setup and sorting users in reports.
    • Auto: Automatically assigned as Person tags based on registration question responses.
  3. Give the tag a name that will help you identify the information you need.
  4. Choose a color for the tag. Leave it “not set” for a grey tag.
  5. Add any notes if wanted (not required).
  6. Click Save. For Project or Person tags, continue to Bulk Tags or Assigning Tags. For Auto Tags, continue below.
  7. After save, new fields appear for Auto tags. Set only one filter type per tag (or leave blank):
    • System Tags: Tags associated with configurations/responses (e.g. electrical outlet fee; auto tag when fee is paid).
    • System Tag Value: The response associated with the system setting (yes, no, true, false, etc.).
    • Auto Tag Settings: Registration fields. Choose “Missing Value” (no response) or “Values Equals” and enter the response in Value When to Tag.
    • Auto Tag Settings (Custom Questions): Same as above for custom questions; use Value When to Tag for the match value.
  8. Save. Tags are applied even if registration is already finished.

Notes: Auto tags will not work if the registration response is deleted, or if you name the tag the same as another tag.
