From zFairs Contest Management
The menu is the backbone of zFairs and will show you all of the options and pages you can navigate to as applicable to your user. Here is a brief overview of each of the menu buttons that can be turned on or off and some information on where to go to configure them.
Contents
Home
- This takes you back to your landing page where you first show when logging into your zFairs site. It shows all of the Main pages such as General, Student, Teacher, Judge, School and Volunteer.
- You can adjust the text on these pages by clicking the edit button at the top right and then double clicking in any of the highlighted/box shadowed areas that show up when you enable edit mode.
- Settings for the landing pages can be found at:
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Fair Features & Settings -> General
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Customize Text
Virtual Contest
- This is the link for Students to access their project's virtual room and see their interview schedule.
- Judges, instead, gain access to the Category rooms on this page.
- This option only shows up when you have Video Conferencing / Virtual Judging enabled.
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Premium Features -> Online Judging -> Online Judging - Enable virtual judging via web conferencing
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Premium Features -> Online Judging -> Online Judging - Show tips and tricks for using the web conferencing on first use
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Premium Features -> Online Judging -> Virtual Judging - Staff Rooms
- This option only shows up when you have Video Conferencing / Virtual Judging enabled.
People
- This is the page that Staff and Admins (and possibly Teachers or District Coordinators as well) will likely use the most in zFairs. Here you'll have access to view, filter, manage and edit all of the users on your site.
- Fully registered users have black icons at the left of their name
- Partially registered users have yellow icons at the left of their name
Paperwork
- Shown when using the Paperwork Manager or Project Dashboard (Electronic ISEF Forms) features.
- For the Paperwork Manager this menu option will give you access to the Review, Setup SRC/IRB Members and File Setup pages.
- For the Project Dashboard this menu option will give you access to the SRC/IRB Review and Setup SRC / IRB Members pages.
- You can configure which paperwork type you are using by going to:
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Premium Features -> Paperwork
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Premium Features -> Electronic ISEF Forms
Create Account
- Allows visitors to your site or registered Staff, Admin, Teacher and District Coordinator users to create new accounts for themselves or others respectively
- You can configure which types of users can register by going to:
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> User & Registration Type Settings
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Schedule -> Registration Date Configurations

Fair
- Here are some pages with general information about your event. Some or all of the pages in this menu item can be disabled but here you'll find the Showcase, Fair Information, Schedule, ISEF Forms, Contact Us and Fair Results pages.
- If the information on these pages is not wanted you can turn off the Fair menu item altogether.
- Staff -> Fair Setup -> Settings -> Fair Features & Settings -> General
Judging
- For judges this menu item shows simply as the Go To Online Judging button but for those with additional permissions you can find Online Judging, Judging Setup, Judging Dashboard and the Judging Results Reviewer pages here.
Store
- Any items that have been set up for selling will show up on the Store page. This page will only show if an item is configured to be sold or if Invoices are turned on.
Staff
- The behind the scenes pages that you as a Staff or Admin user will need access to to run and configure the event.
- Includes the Report Viewer, Tags, Check In, Assign Awards, Assign Special Awards, Schools, Bulk Email, Fee Tracking, Invoice Management, Setup Wizard, Fair Setup, Promote / Advance Projects, Archive Fair, Import Data and Previous Event Report Viewers.
Messages
- Here Staff & Admin users will be able to see the latest communications and announcements from zFairs
Edit
- For most of the pages where this button appears you can click it to activate edit mode and then double click in the highlighted / shadow boxed areas to edit them directly on the page.
Name
- This is a drop down option, that shows your first name, where you can access your profile, change your password or log out of the zFairs site you are currently logged in to.
