Invention Convention Judging
Rubrics
First we will need to create the Rubric.
- Click the Judging drop-down menu.
- Click Setup.
- Click the Rubric tab.
- Select the + icon on Create a New Rubric.
- Enter the Rubric Name.
- Select if it is the default Rubric.
- Add the Rubric to Categories it will be used for. You can leave the Categories blank.
- Click Save.
The rubric has now been created, and you can start adding the Judging Categories.
- Click add Judging Category.
- Enter the name of the Category, the Weight, and if it only applies to team projects.
Now that the Judging Categories are created, add the assessments to each category.
- Click Add Assessment.
- Enter the information for the assessment.
- Click Save.
Rounds
Create your Judging Rounds
- Click the Judging drop-down menu.
- Click Setup
- Go to the Rounds tab
- Click the + icon on Create a New Round and enter all the information for the round.
- Save Changes.
Judging Circles
Add Judging Circles
- Go to the the Judging drop-down menu.
- Select Circle Setup and Management.
- Click Generate Circles for the round you would like to create the Judging Circles for.
- Enter the name prefix, the number of judges, and the number of projects per circle.
- Click Generate Circles.
Add Judge Groups
- Go to the Judge Groups tab.
- Click Add Judge Group.
- Enter the information for the Judge Group and Add Judges.
Assign Entries to Circles
- Go to the Judging Assignments tab.
- Stay on the Entries tab.
- Click on the icon next to the entry you would like to add to a circle, and select which circle you would like to add it to.
Assign Judge Groups to Circles
- Go to the Circles tab.
- Click the edit icon on the circle.
- Select the Judge Group to assign to the Circle.
Scoring
View your results
- Go to the Judging drop-down menu
- Click on Judging Results Reviewer.
- Click View Results next to the round you would like to see results for.
- You can view results by Project or by Judge.
- Select how you would like to sort results in the drop-down menu. You can sort them by project ID, Average Score, Adjusted Score, or Average Z-Score. For an explanation of the different score types, please see the Scoring Wiki Page - https://wiki.zfairs.com/index.php?title=Scoring#z-Score.
Assign Awards
Assign Awards Automatically
- Go to the Judging drop-down menu.
- Click Judging Results Reviewer.
- Click Assign Awards.
- Select which score type to rank projects by.
- Select if each category has its own set of awards.
- Enter how many of each award are assigned. (If the option is selected for each category to have its own set of awards, this is the number of each award per category)
- Click Assign Awards.
- If needed, awards can be adjusted manually after they are assigned by following the instructions to manually assign awards.
Manually Assign Awards
- Select how you would like to sort the projects.
- Click on the project you would like to assign the award to.
- Next to Awards, click add/edit and select the award you would like to assign.
- Click save award.
Promoting Projects
Set up the event participants will advance to
- Go to the Staff drop-down menu.
- Select Promote/Advance Projects
- Select the event in the Fair to Advance to drop-down menu.
- Specify the Minimum award required from your event to advance to the next event.
- Click the Find Fair to Advance To/Approve feeder Fair button.
- Find the fair in the drop-down list by the Fair Name or the Fair URL.
- Click Request Link. This will send a request to that event. Once it has been approved, follow the steps above to select the Fair to Advance To.
To approve participants of another event to advance to your event
- Click the Find Fair to Advance To/Approve feeder Fair button.
- Go to the Requests to approve (To this contest) tab.
- Click the Approve button for the event requesting access.
