About

You can run your Speech and Interviews through zFairs. Below you will see basic information on how to setup and run your Speech and Interviews through zFairs. Please note that this page does not cover the general styling, branding, and configuration of your zFairs site. Your zFairs site has been preload with categories, judging rubrics, some old interview prompts.

By default our AcaDeca setup expects you to have your students to register the traditional way, and you will upload student information into our site.

Set Up

Upload Students

To upload your student follow these steps.

  • Sign in to your zFairs site
  • Click on AcaDeca Management in the menu
  • Click on the tab labeled Load Information
  • Set the Type of file you are loading interview or speech
  • Select your file.
    • Note: the system is looking for a csv file which you can get from your other system. (If you have information on this process please send it to support@zfairs.com)
    • Note: that your file needs the following columns Student Id, Student Domain, Student FN, Student LN, Student Category, Username, Password
  • If the file you selected contains headers, indicate that by check the Does the file include headers? checkbox
  • Once you have completed on the steps a green button that reads Load will appear. Press load to upload your students


You will need to communicate with your coaches and students to distribute the usernames and passwords each student will need to sign in.


Judging

You will need to enable judging and decide if you want to make judging assignments or not. Our system will help connect your judges with your students, along will provide tools to make the speech and interview process both easy and intuitive for judges and students. Google Chrome is the recommend browser, however our system is supported and works in all major browsers.

Setup

To get to judging setup

  • Click on Judging in the menu and then select Setup


There are three tabs which help organize judging setup, info, Rounds, and rubric

Here you can set a message for judges to see inside of online judging, but the most import thing will be to enable online judging.

To enable judging Check the check box next to Judging on and then press save

rounds

We have pre-defined these for your convince, you can make more or adjust the rounds we have provided. To edit how a round is defined click on the edit icon (pencil). If you want to assign judges to students click on the eye icon.


rubric

We have pre-defined these for your convince, they are based off the standard Acadeca rubrics for both speech and interview. You will see two rubrics are already defined.

  • Navigate to your zFairs site
  • Click on Create Account in the menu
  • Fill out the forms, and follow the prompts
  • Once registration is complete they will see a Registration Complete! page where it will also remind them of their username.
    • They will need to use this username and the password they provided to sign in.
