zFairs and ClassLink Integration

zFairs (provided by Illuminating Software LLC) is an officially certified ClassLink partner. This certification enables seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) between ClassLink and the zFairs platform.

Key Features

  • SSO can be initiated either from the ClassLink Launchpad or directly from the zFairs website.
  • The zFairs Contest Management app can be added to the ClassLink Launchpad.
  • ClassLink SSO is fully supported for students, teachers, and school/district administrators.

Enabling the Integration

From the ClassLink Side (recommended first step)

ClassLink administrators must:

  1. Log in to the ClassLink Management Console.
  2. Add and enable the zFairs Contest Management application.
  3. (Optional) Choose whether to add the app to the Launchpad for users.
  4. Email support@zfairs.com and provide your ClassLink Tenant ID so the zFairs team can complete the district linking.

From the zFairs Side

Once the ClassLink side is prepared:

  1. Log in to your zFairs administration dashboard.
  2. Navigate to All Settings (or Organization Settings → Integrations, depending on your interface version).
  3. Enable the ClassLink integration toggle.

The integration will then be active for all users in the district.

Recommendations for ClassLink Administrators

Because science fairs, STEM events, and other contests hosted on zFairs frequently involve participants from:

  • multiple schools within a district,
  • a wide range of grade levels,
  • different classes or teachers,

we strongly recommend not restricting access to the zFairs Contest Management app by school, grade, class, or group. Leaving access open district-wide ensures every eligible student can register and participate without unnecessary barriers.
