Welcome,

Thank you for choosing zFairs!

Some information to get your started. We have a wiki that will have a lot of helpful information. This can be found at https://wiki.zfairs.com. We also have two guides to help you get started https://zFairs.com/Start and on our wiki. There are some videos of commonly asked questions on your new website. This can be found on the left side of your menu as you log in under “Help”. To obtain further help please use our ticketing system. This will allow us to make sure we answer and take care of all your questions. You can find this at https://ticket.zfairs.com.

Let's get started. Go to your new url and log into your fair. You can find your credentials here.

In the top menu you will find a section called “Staff” and under this you will find “Fair Setup”. You will see a section called “Start here” this is the best place to start.

The General Section: This will allow you to upload your logo, set your fair name, give contact information, etc.

The Schedule section: this allows you to set the day/s of your fair/contest, decide when students can register, when to freeze student information, when to post fair results, etc.

Settings: This is where you set all the features you want for your fair, this also allows you to specify questions to ask. Just a reminder though you can set custom questions if possible use the ones available for best results. This will take some time to get through, but remember most of this will only need to be done once and all settings are saved from year to year. It would be wise to glance though each year as we are updating and adding new features. If you see a premium feature that you want that is not turned on it may be that that feature was not included with the plan you purchased. If you would like to add a feature just let us know.

Categories: For the Science Fairs these are preloaded with the ISEF categories. The abbreviations you see are used to give the students their student Id.

Custom text: This section will take some time. Remember it is saved from year to year and many times it's just dates that need changes. All pages can be customized. You will notice that it is broken up into sections such as “General” and “Students” this is letting you know who will be able to see these pages. Ctrl f is an amazing feature that allows you to search a page for a specific text on a page. This can help you easily find and change dates year to year.

Guidelines & Requirements: This allows you to set any statement you want to make sure are read at the end of registration and you can require them to check a box verifying that they have read and agree to.

Ask your own questions: Though we allow you to ask your own questions the program can not filter these. For example: judge preferences, etc. If you need these to be filtered in the program please use the one of the provided questions. If you do not see one just ask about adding one.

Divisions and Awards: Category Awards are your typical 1st, 2nd, etc.

If you need your fair broken up by school districts or divisions you will find “Fair Division” under “Divisions and Awards”, and “School Districts” under “Other”.

There is a lot here and we are here to help. The wiki is a great place to find out what something is, and how to use features. Don't forget the help section. Still can’ t figure it out, just create a ticket and we will help you as quickly as we can.

Remember the first setup will take some time, but the information is saved from year to year.

Thank you,
